STOCK METER MINUS PEAK DETECTOR BULB, TOP CENTER
An old "had to have" item from many years ago
Never had the top cover for it, would have been nice to have.
I wanted to make this unit capable of working at lower transmit power levels...
So to that end I incorporated the following changes, including a frequency counter.
NEW P.S. AND INTERFACE MODS BOARD
Added gain & level shifting to permit reading very low input levels.
Added plus and minus 12 volt power supplies
Didn't need much power on minus supply so just used a couple 1K uF caps off the power transformer.
Amplifiers to increase low end signal input range
COUNTER INTERFACE BOARD TOP
Put the heat generating parts up in the free air.
BORING BOTTOM VIEW
Counter interface circuitry. The counter operates fine up to 35Mc or so.
PANEL BUTCHERED AND UNIT INSTALLED.
Put Zener & dropping resistor "in the breeze" to maximize convection air flow.
DISPLAY CONTRAST ISN'T VERY GOOD.
Mounting holes, and cut out are a MESS.
SOME BLUE TRANSPARENT TAPE FROM HOBBY LOBBY
CONTRAST ISSUE SOLVED, STILL HAVE 49.9 YARDS OF TAPE LEFT
View from the operating position.
