I made two modifications to this radio. One is to have a bench adjustment to establish the limit of the Q-multiplier's gain, unconditionally prohibiting it from going into oscillation. I don't know why Gonset didn't do that, because it certainly didn't help their reputation, by allowing the thing to oscillate.
The second was to improve on their muting of the receiver. Their solution was to simply short the speaker transformers secondary, nothing more. I changed the muting circuitry so that those tubes on the RF gain pot had their cathodes lifted from ground.
